Position Overview:
As a Project Engineer, you will utilize your professional engineering license and deep knowledge of wood framing to design and oversee residential construction projects. You will be responsible for preparing calculations, drawings, and solutions to complex field issues, ensuring our designs meet the highest standards of safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Engineering: Prepare structural calculations and detailed drawings for wood-framed residential projects, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes and standards.
- Project Oversight: Lead projects from initiation through completion, coordinating with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure successful execution.
- Problem Solving: Address and resolve on-site construction challenges, providing effective solutions and guidance to construction teams.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other engineers and team members to refine project specifications and address design modifications as needed.
- Quality Assurance: Review and verify project deliverables for accuracy and adherence to project requirements.
- Field Support: Conduct site visits to monitor progress, ensure compliance with design specifications, and provide technical support.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including reports, drawings, and correspondence.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related field.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with extensive experience in wood-framed construction.
- Strong understanding of building codes, structural design principles, and construction methods.
- Proficiency in engineering software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, and structural analysis software).
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to addressing field issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
