ABOUT THE POSITION:
The UD Team Attendance Coordinator will analyze student attendance and take both preventative actions as well as make interventions to increase daily student attendance.
ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION:
Urban Dove Team Charter School (UD Team) is a distinctive network of sports-based high schools catering to over-aged, under-credited youth. We fuse a robust academic curriculum with sports-based youth development, ensuring our graduates receive a diploma, a stepping stone for higher education, and essential job skills.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyze school wide data on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
- In collaboration with the Family Engagement Coordinator, engage and provide support to families and students that need assistance with getting their children to school
- Conduct daily outreach via phone calls and home visits
- Schedule parent meetings
- Lead Attendance Task Force
- Collaborate with homeroom teams to increase student attendance
- Assist in compiling student records (birth certificates, transfers, immunizations) for meeting state requirements
- Maintain a variety of attendance records, schedules, and files for the purpose of documenting and/or providing reliable information
- Perform enrollment and un-enrollment activities
- Consult and collaborate with teachers regarding student behavior plans, goals, and objectives
- Prepare a variety of reports
- Respond to inquiries from a variety of individuals
- Investigate students who leave the district without verification
- Make referrals to outside prevention agencies
- Follow up with families of students who have been expelled and assist with finding new placement as needed
- Maintain and update the LTA list
- Serve as a mentor for a small group of students
- Work evenings and weekends as needed
- Must have valid driver’s license and be willing to drive on occasion
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience in schools preferred
- Transfer School experience a plus
- Demonstrated ability to “multi-task” and deliver high quality work
- Desire to devise programming to address the unique needs of our population

- Commitment to the use of restorative practices and a strength-based, youth development approach to student issues
- Ability to function well as part of a team and work independently
- Must be team-oriented, with a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, a passion for serving at-risk youth, and a sense of humor

Salary : $43,680 - $47,840
