What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Coordinator/Advisor position at Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis?
The Business Coordinator/Advisor welcomes and provides a positive and responsive environment for receiving internal and external customers and performs various administrative duties and tasks to support the Center for Entrepreneurship. This is a part time position.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Serves as initial contact for clients via phone, email, social media, face to face, and intake all information.
- Conduct client intake, assess business needs, and provide relevant resources.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client files by tracking and recording key metrics for reporting purposes.
- Develop partnerships with community organizations, financial institutions, funders, and industry leaders.
- Support program staff with necessary reporting documentation and compliance requirements.
- Assist clients with completing applications for participation.
- Support the Director in planning and executing workshops, seminars, and networking events.
- Support small business clients with strategy development, branding, and operational improvements.
- Demonstrate tact and discretion in preparing, disclosing, and handling information of a confidential and sensitive nature.
The ideal candidate must have strong interpersonal skills, excellent customer service skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks at once, and a wide range of experience managing clerical responsibilities while demonstrating tact and discretion in preparing, disclosing, and handling information of a confidential and sensitive nature.
The above knowledge and abilities are typically acquired through a combination of education and experience. An associate's degree in business or related area is required. A bachelor's degree is preferred. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills along with strong interpersonal skills. Must be client focused with solid customer services skills.
