What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Training Center Instructor – St. Clair County, IL position at Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis?
The Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis is seeking a qualified individual to work as a Business Training Center Instructor. The instructor will perform a variety of duties in a classroom setting preparing clients for employment opportunities and/or enhanced performance.
The instructor will prepare course outlines, lesson plans, and goals to support adult learners via classroom instruction thorough basic English, math, computer literacy, typing, office procedures, and the general use of Microsoft Office Suite. The instructor will track client progress toward skill development, maintain accurate and up to date records, actively recruit program participants, and serve as an assistant to facilitators with the youth coding program. The instructor is responsible for the overall supervision of the computer lab, equipment, and usage and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualified candidates must have knowledge of classroom instructional techniques for adult learners and a thorough knowledge of business best practices to include letter and report composition, grammar and punctuation; computer literacy, proficiency in excel, and other programs.
The above knowledge and abilities are typically acquired through a combination of education and experience. Education background should be equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree. Proven proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access software applications with at least two years' experience instructing subject matter areas. Previous experience working with disadvantaged and low-income clients is desirable.
