What are the responsibilities and job description for the Case Manager, Serving Our Streets position at Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis?
The Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis is seeking qualified individuals to work as Case Manager for our Serving Our Streets program.
The Case Manager will promote community empowerment and stabilization by:
- Provides excellent Customer Service to both internal and external participants.
- Interview and assess for job readiness, skills, qualifications and interests.
- Review, revise and develop resumes and cover letters.
- Ensures all enrolled clients have completed all necessary paperwork and distributed appropriately.
- Maintain accurate, timely and descriptive case notes in our Client Management System on services provided and client activities.
- Conduct training sessions and assist participants in reaching established goals.
- Provides post-employment and job retention support.
- Prepare job seekers for re/entry into the workforce.
- Provide career counseling and exploration.
- Assess ability to use all job search techniques and tools.
- Refer customers to job preparation workshops, testing or assessment(s) as needed.
- Provide referrals for support services as needed.
- Ensure confidentiality of conversations and documentation.
- Meets regularly with the team to review and report on the employment and educational/vocational status of all participants.
- Perform educational/vocational status of all participants.
- Perform all other duties as assigned
The above knowledge and abilities are typically acquired through a combination of education and experience. A BS in a Human Services field (i.e., Sociology, Social Work, etc.) or equivalent experience is preferred. Must be a credible, suitable and respected individual in the target area. Experience working with individuals and families from challenged backgrounds and neighborhoods. Experience and/or training in mediation and intervention. Possess a valid Missouri driver's license, insurance, and good driving record. No pending criminal cases or prior convictions for domestic violence (within 10 years) or prior convictions for sexual assault or child abuse
