What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Assistant – Save Our Sons position at Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis?
The Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis, the leading champion of empowerment and opportunity for African Americans and others throughout the region in securing economic self-reliance, social equality, and civil rights, is seeking a highly motivated individual with a passion for helping others to work as a Program Assistant to support the Save Our Sons South City location.
The assistant will perform clerical duties to include the reception and evaluation of inquiries, providing information and assistance as requested, the initial point of inquiry for the program, scheduling appointments, maintaining calendars and reports Save Our Sons calendar activities for use throughout the agency. Other responsibilities include preparation of check requests, maintaining client files, ordering supplies, and assisting with reporting systems necessary for utilization of the data, as well as assisting in the preparation of reports, proposals, manuals, and presentations related to the Save Our Sons Program.
Qualified individuals must have strong interpersonal skills, excellent customer service skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks at once, and a wide range of experience managing clerical responsibilities while demonstrating tact and discretion in preparing, disclosing, and handling information of a confidential and sensitive nature.
The above knowledge and abilities are typically acquired through a combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma. At least one year of experience in the administrative/customer service field is required, college coursework is desirable.
