Who we are:
Urban Ltd. provides full-service civil engineering, transportation engineering, land planning, landscape architecture and surveying services to private and public sector clients throughout the Washington D.C. metropolitan area.
Urban is currently seeking Civil Engineering Project Managers with 5 years of experience in land development and design projects. Successful candidates will be responsible for leading and managing land development engineering projects. The position is based in our Annandale or Chantilly, VA office.
Our Ideal Candidate has:
- A B.S. in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
- An EIT certification (highly preferred).
- Experience in designing, preparing and processing land development applications in Northern Virginia jurisdictions (highly preferred).
- Experience with Residential, Commercial and Mixed-Use Land Development Projects.
- The ability to make well-informed and sound design decisions based on their knowledge of civil engineering concepts and locality requirements.
- The knowledge to contribute to the preparation of full sets of construction plans.
- The technical expertise in civil engineering design, including site grading, drainage, utilities, and infrastructure.
- The depth of knowledge to ensure the quality of all work completed.
- Strong proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills to effectively communicate design updates.
- A Customer Focused mindset committed to delivering excellence in all work products.
Typical Duties Will Include but not limited to:
- Creation of CAD drawings and details for site and subdivision plans.
- Site Layout and Utility design.
- Horizontal and Vertical design of roadways.
- Preparation of erosion and sediment control plans.
- Generating hydrologic computations for stormwater management facilities.
- Performing pavement design computations.
- Performing site distance analysis.
- Preparing site work quantity take-offs.
- Coordination with internal and external engineers, architects, county reviewers, etc.
