Annual Compensation Range: $70,000 – $80,000

Urban’s team offers a wide range of skills and collectively has over 60 years’ experience in the energy sector including oil & natural gas, renewable natural gas, power generation, mining, and renewable energy; with expertise in project development and operations ranging from 50,000hp compressor stations, to 600MW cryptocurrency installations and 20MW solar energy projects. Core services include comprehensive mitigation planning, design and installation noise mitigation products , environmental noise modeling, noise level monitoring, and Urban’s NavPlanIQ Software. Software services include stakeholder engagement and grievance management tracking to support project permit and execution efforts as well as a central hosting location for all Urban acoustical engineering services among other features. Our team is highly skilled in providing cost effective solutions, through strategic planning for execution of large-scale operations in urban areas.

Job Summary:

Urban is seeking a dynamic Field Engineer to join the team! The position will include both office and field work, but majority of time will be in the field supporting Engineering and Sound Wall Operations. Travel will be required (estimated at 50 to 75%) and will include both local (50%) and out of state (25%) locations as Urban continues to expand services throughout the US. We are looking for a self-starter, collaborative, and creative thinker that will be a significant asset to our growing team. Primary responsibilities will include deploying sound monitors, maintaining sound monitor schedule and fleet, field collection of sound data from industrial equipment for energy operations and primary internal backup support for Sound Wall Field Operation. You will work closely with Engineering and Sound Wall Operations. Job duties consist of but are not limited to:

·        Oversee sound monitor field schedule (monitor deployment, retrieval, monitor calibration and field data acquisition)

·        50-75% travel is expected (Estimated at ~50% local and 25% out of state)

·        Field data collection, post-processing, and reporting

·        Inventory management

·        Some computer skills required (schedule management, asset management, data maintenance)

·        Customer Service and client relationship building

·        Provide backup support for field-level sound wall operations

·        Work well with others in a team orientated environment

Requirements and Qualifications:

·        Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline

·        Excellent communicator (written and verbal)

·        Self-motivated with ability to learn quickly

·        Must be able to occasionally work extended hours, including weekends and holidays as needed and able to be ‘on-call’ for 24/7 noise monitoring and field operations

·        Able to pass a drug test at time of onboarding and continuously while employed

·        Must be able to carry up to 50 lbs. for a reasonable distance

·        Must have valid driver's license

·        Must be able to travel 50 % (combination of local and out of state)

Preferred Qualifications:

·        Experience with acoustics, noise mitigation products, noise modeling and noise monitoring

·        Experience on site with oil & natural gas, renewables, crypto currency, power generation, and new technologies

·        Field engineering experience

·        FAA Small Unmanned Aircraft Certification

·        Social interface between community and client operations

·        Ability to oversee and prioritize multiple tasks and projects in high paced environment

·        Possesses a high level of initiative and can work effectively with minimum supervision
