General Description

The Director of Accreditation and Quality Assurance (DAQA).is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring that the agency is in full compliance with programmatic accreditation and regulatory standards, and quality assurance. This position leads, guides and oversees the accreditation processes, collaborates with administrative leaders, accreditation teams, and fosters continuous improvement to maintain quality and adherence to accreditation and regulatory standards across all programs. Ensures that policies are aligned with the mission, vision, and goals of the agency, and in compliance with applicable state and federal laws and regulatory requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited post-secondary institution, preferably in social services, or curriculum development and instruction, higher education policy or administration, or related field. Advance degrees or certifications a plus.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in accreditation, compliance, certification, licensing or related experience.
  • Experience in management or leadership role, deep understanding of accreditation, quality assurance / quality improvement, and compliance.
  • Knowledgeable with accreditation standards through an accrediting agency (e.g. : CARF, COA).
  • Knowledge of accreditation software systems.
  • Demonstrated success in accreditation or certification programs and clearly communicating the purposes and value of accreditation as continuous quality improvement.
  • Demonstrated organizational and management skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in working in a complex organization with diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentations and reports, with the ability to influence at multiple levels.
  • What You’ll Be Doing

  • Responsible for leading the USRP through the process to obtain accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).
  • Oversees Urban Strategies, quality assurance and improvement activities to ensure that all locations are performing at the highest standard and comply with state, federal and Company established policies.
  • Evaluates, interprets and summarizes accreditation guidelines and manages the process for accreditation activities.
  • Identifies appropriate resources and accountabilities for teams involved with accreditation and quality improvement.
  • Oversees comprehensive accreditation work plans by establishing deliverables, accountabilities, and timelines for team members.
  • Performs quantitative and qualitative analysis of quality related data and reports activities, improvements, and recommendations to the quality committees.
  • Track, analyze and assist in improving assigned accreditation and quality improvement workplans and activities in collaboration with the Refugio Program Administrators, PMO Team, and Corporate Administrators.
  • Collaborates with the Policy and Compliance Director develops, initiates, maintains and revises policies and procedures in accordance with CARF guidelines, ORR Policy and Procedures, and State Licensing Standards.
  • Responsible for maintaining positive working relationships with the Refugio Program Management Office (PMO) and Corporate Administration, interdepartmental teams, accrediting organizations, and state and federal entities as applicable.
  • As part of the accreditation and compliance team, contributes to the preparatory activities, self-study and evaluation, and improvement of operations and processes necessary for accreditation.
  • Evaluates, interprets and summarizes accreditation guidelines and manages the process for accreditation activities.
  • Identifies appropriate resources and accountabilities for teams involved with accreditation and quality improvement.
  • Provides training on accreditation standards and quality assurance processes.
  • Facilitates the implementation of accreditation software, tools, and other resources.
  • Oversees and directs the US Refugio Programs’ quality assurance and improvement activities to ensure that all locations are performing at the highest standard and complying with state and federal laws and regulations, and Company established policies.
  • Manages comprehensive accreditation work plans by establishing deliverables, accountabilities, and timelines for team members.
  • Performs quantitative and qualitative analysis of quality related data and reports activities, improvements, and recommendations to PMO Team and Corporate Administrators committee.
  • Maintains accurate and comprehensive records of all accreditation and compliance activities.
  • Track, analyze and assist in improving assigned accreditation and quality improvement workplans and activities in collaboration with the Refugio Program Administrators, PMO Team, and Corporate Administrators.
  • Builds and maintains program performance and compliance metrics and narratives to support improvement and planning.
  • Supports efforts in building a strong organizational culture of quality assurance activities and assessments for all programs.
  • These duties are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other related duties may be required and assigned by executive leadership.
  • Attend all training, departmental and program meetings to ensure that up-to-date information is received and / or information about policy changes or practice is adhered to.
