What You'll Do / Job Summary :

The Production & Assembly role is responsible for ensuring the highest quality of garments and items within our production process in both our dry-cleaning and restoration divisions. This role involves inspecting, cleaning and packaging of both dry-cleanings orders and restoration jobs. The specialist will assess garments and hand-cleanable items for defects or stains, clean them to the highest standards, and ensure proper packaging for transportation. This position requires a strong attention to detail, flexibility, and the ability to collaborate with various teams to meet production goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

Inspection & Assembly :

Perform detailed visual inspections of garments received from the production floor to identify any defects or imperfections.
Package garments according to established procedures, ensuring they are adequately protected during transportation and storage.
Adhere to Urban Valet's quality standards to maintain high levels of quality control.
Communicate any garment quality issues or concerns to the appropriate team members for resolution.

Restoration Production :

Perform meticulous cleaning of hand cleanable items, ensuring that all dirt, stains, and debris are effectively removed without causing damage to the item.

Properly assemble and package clean, finished work according to established guidelines and standards.

Sort incoming garments and items based on their fabric type, color, and cleaning requirements, ensuring accurate categorization for further processing.

Determine the appropriate cleaning method for each item, including washing, drying, or dry-cleaning, based on fabric care labels and garment condition.

Assist with other production tasks, including assembly, intake, and packaging, as needed based on production demands.

Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and meet production targets.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment to ensure productivity and safety.

Previous experience in assembly, packaging, or a related field preferred.

Strong attention to detail and ability to identify subtle defects in garments.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and tasks as needed.

Basic computer skills for data entry and order processing.

Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.

Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for handling garments and packaging materials.

Capability to lift and move boxes or containers weighing up to 25 pounds.
