What are the responsibilities and job description for the Middle School Teacher (June-Early August) PT Hours position at Urban Ventures?
Urban Ventures is seeking passionate individuals to join our Summer Ventures program from June 16th, 2025 – August 8th, 2025. You'll play a vital role in supporting the academic, social-emotional, and spiritual growth of young learners. Together, we'll create a transformative summer experience!
Responsibilities:
- Plan and teach steady, systematic, multi-sensory lessons in math and language arts
- Regularly assess student progress and record data in a timely, organized fashion
- Build positive relationships with students and families including, but not limited to, regular updates regarding student progress
- Meet with Summer Ventures team to reflect and collaborate
- Complete progress reports at the end of summer for families
- Facilitate daily devotionals
- Other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Classroom Management
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Willingness to go above and beyond in forming relationships with students and families
Additional eligibility qualifications:
- Spanish Speaking preferred
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field
- Experience effectively working in a multi-ethnic, multi-racial urban community
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work
- Light to moderate lifting may be required
- Regular, predictable attendance is required
Work Location
- Urban Ventures Campus based at 2924 Fourth Ave South, Minneapolis
Work hours: 22 hours per week, plus field trips
- Monday - Thursday 8:20AM- 1:20PM
- Friday, July 11th, 2025 8AM – 12PM
- Friday, August 8th, 2025 8AM – 4 PM
Required Training Schedule Week June 16th-June 20th
- Monday 8AM – 4PM
- Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 9AM – 4 PM
- Attend one or the other Tuesday or Wednesday 6PM – 8PM
Travel:
Occasional travel to work functions
