TITLE: UMS Team Facilitator
LOCATION: Urbana Middle School
SUPERVISOR: Building Principal and Assistant Principal
JOB SUMMARY: UMS Team Facilitators are the facilitators for each academic team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Lead team meetings with the agenda provided to UMS administration.
- Actively participate in Team Facilitator meetings held at least once a month with UMS administration.
- Work with team members to create team goals and monitor progress toward goal attainment.
- Serve on interview teams to hire new teachers/staff. Meet with new staff before school begins to explain subject area curriculum, materials, and assessments, as well as answering questions.
- Budget team funds with input from team members. Approve all team spending.
- Serve as an instructional leader both within and outside the team.
- Find and share professional development opportunities.
- Implement school improvement initiatives within the team.
- Showcase and explain team’s class content and achievements to students, families, and community as requested by administration.
- Coordinate student locker and bus assignments in collaboration with UMS lead secretary and custodians on behalf of the team.
- Coordinate field trips with the attendance secretary on behalf of the team.
- Complete additional duties as assigned by administration.
LICENSES/CREDENTIAL: Valid Illinois Teaching Certificate with the appropriate endorsements.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Salary is based on a stipend determined through the Urbana School District #116 and UEA Collective Bargaining Agreement.

- This is a position within the collective bargaining unit and is not an administrative position.
- One year commitment (SY25-26) with the possibility for a year two continuation with proficient performance.
