- Ability to operate a variety of standard office equipment including computer, printer, ten-key calculator, copy machine, fax machine, telephone, etc.
- Ability to understand the meaning of words and to use them effectively when speaking and writing to properly convey or receive information.
- Must be able to interact in a positive manner with students, faculty, parents and other staff members.
- Strong background with technology
- Management of student databases and grading
- Knowledge of scheduling
- Ability to think analytically and problem solve effectively.
- At least one year of specialized training beyond high school
- Two to three years of secretarial, administrative or office management experience involving computer entry, accounting and records management experience.
- Office equipment such as two-way radios, cell phone, pager, intercom system, multi-line phone system, fax machines, copiers, and computers.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Serve as receptionist; greet parents, faculty and students; direct visitors to appropriate locations; resolve problems personally or refer to principal or appropriate staff member; keep accurate list of calls, messages, information requests, problems and solutions and meetings and appointments.
- Keep an accurate list of calls, messages, information requests, meetings and appointments with Deans.
- Maintain accurate student records.
- PowerSchool web page (announcements)
- Support the work of the deans of students (scheduling meetings, maintaining calendar, assisting with email, etc.)
- Nursing duties as necessary.
- Updating information in PowerSchool (attendance, locker info, student pictures, etc ) on a regular basis.
- Attend and participate in attendance meetings with attendance team- discuss attendance, next steps, and letters that might need to be sent out. Pulling attendance reports from Powerschool.
- Reinforcing UHS expectations for students around attendance, behavior and over privileges using Code of Conduct
- Troubleshoot and assist students, faculty, and staff with questions regarding forms, computers, office equipment, Powerschool, etc.
- Intercom programming (bell schedules, alerts, paging)
- Inform admin of urgent matters and determine when delegation of tasks is needed.
- Must be able to interact in a positive manner with students, faculty, parents, and other staff members.
- Must be able to multitask in a busy environment.
- Maintain a reliable attendance record.
- Perform other duties as needed or assigned.
- Requires eye/hand/arm coordination and dexterity of fingers and hands in keyboarding, calculating and fingering and grasping small objects normally weighing less than 10 lbs.
- Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling and related physical activity.
- Ability to work while standing, moving and/or walking.
- Drug, tobacco, and alcohol free while working.
- Must be able to see and hear within normal limits with our without corrective lenses or hearing aids.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle used to travel between sites.
- Majority of work is performed in an office or school setting.
- Occasional exposure to body fluids, fumes, noise, and hazardous materials and emergency situations.
