IT Business Relationship Manager (BRM)
Location: Sacramento, CA - Hybrid (On-site Tuesday through Thursday; Remote Monday and Friday)
Duration: 6 months (960 hours)
NOTE: - The role itself is a Business Relationship Manager (think PM/Business Consultant/BSA with a focus on infrastructure).Prior experience with Electric Utilities is needed. we need local Sacramento County residents (potentially candidates willing to relo, but the closer to Sac the better).
IT Business Relationship Manager (BRM) to support its internal business units and align technology initiatives with strategic goals. The BRM will serve as a liaison between IT and the business, ensuring that technology investments deliver maximum value and that solutions are in sync with enterprise objectives.
This role requires strong collaboration across project teams, business leaders, IT management, and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of both business operations and IT capabilities, with the ability to mediate challenges and foster long-term alignment.
Key Responsibilities:
Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with stakeholders across multiple business units.
Align IT services and solutions with business priorities and strategic goals.
Translate business needs into IT requirements and ensure timely delivery of technology solutions.
Collaborate with project managers, IT leadership, and business SMEs to identify gaps, opportunities, and strategic priorities.
Help drive continuous improvement in IT-business interactions and outcomes.
Facilitate communication, understanding, and problem-solving between technical and non-technical teams.
Mandatory Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Business Relationship Manager or similar role.
Ability to clearly articulate IT concepts to non-technical audiences and actively understand business needs.
Strong understanding of business strategy, operations, and industry trends.
Familiarity with IT infrastructure, enterprise systems, and emerging technologies.
Strong analytical, conflict-resolution, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Technical Requirements:
Understanding of network, server, and database systems.
Experience with ITIL or similar service management frameworks.
Knowledge of ERP systems and how they support core business functions.
Background in strategic portfolio management and technology roadmapping.
Experience balancing competing priorities with limited resources.
Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
Experience mediating conflicts between business and technical teams.
Prior work in a regulated or infrastructure-focused industry (e.g., energy, utilities, or government) is a plus.
