About Our Program 

Each summer URBN Inc. welcomes candidates from across the country to immerse themselves within various teams across our portfolio of brands and gain hands-on learning experience in the area of business which they choose to pursue. For 10 weeks, interns will share in the unique culture & perks found at our Home Office in the historic Philadelphia Navy Yard, while developing the skills to succeed in a fast-paced retail environment. Our paid internship program also offers a summer full of intern focused events including exposure to our senior leadership across the business in small group settings, insight into company initiatives, off-site field trips & for those qualified a chance to interview for a full time job opportunity. The URBN 2024 Summer Internship Program will run from 6/3 through 8/9 at our Home Office in Philadelphia, PA.   

Overview:  

Nuuly is the newest sibling to Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, and Free People, and focuses on circular fashion by offering a subscription rental experience for women’s apparel and a Thrift ecommerce platform. What Will You Be Doing?   

As Nuuly continues its rapid growth, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to a wide range of
engineering initiatives. Your role will involve close collaboration with fellow engineers and
encompass the following responsibilities:
● Collaborate with engineers to develop software applications, including crafting
application logic and configuring deployments.
● Learn and master the technology and tools utilized at URBN/Nuuly, such as Kotlin/JVM,
SQL, Kafka, Google Cloud, and Kubernetes.
● Contribute to the expansion and enhancement of our cutting-edge technology systems.
● Gain valuable insights by shadowing senior leaders as they design innovative
technology solutions. 

What You Will Bring!  

• Proficiency in software application development, including the ability to craft application logic
• Knowledge of object-oriented programming
• Familiarity with SQL for database management and operations
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate
• Ability to use critical thinking and problem solving skills to analyze complex technical information, understand system requirements, and devise effective solutions
