Role Summary
The Director of Centralized Planning will oversee the URBN Supply Chain Centralized Planning team across six locations within the North American supply chain distribution and fulfillment center network, ensuring efficient and effective logistics operations. This role is pivotal in driving strategic initiatives, optimizing resource allocation, and enhancing service delivery to support the company's long-term goals.
Role Responsibilities
- Leadership and Team Management: Lead and mentor the Centralized Planning team across the North American network and Nuuly, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement. Manage staffing, performance, and development to ensure team goals are met.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive central planning strategies that align with the company's objectives. Analyze and forecast business needs, resource allocation, and capacity planning to support growth and operational efficiency.
- Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve planning processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Identify and eliminate root causes of recurring issues that impact costs or service quality.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with other Directors and cross-functional teams to brainstorm and implement logistics planning ideas. Ensure alignment of planning activities with overall business objectives.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of planning processes, using performance metrics to make data-driven recommendations for improvement. Prepare and present detailed reports to senior management on planning activities and strategic initiatives.
- Industry Insight: Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices to ensure the company remains competitive and innovative. Implement new logistics-related strategies to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.
Role Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
- Experience: Proven experience in supply chain management, logistics planning, or a related field. Experience in a leadership role managing teams and driving strategic initiatives.
- Skills:
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to perform well in a multi-tasked environment with strong attention to detail.
- Advanced knowledge of systems such as RMS, WM (Manhattan), QLIK Reporting, MicroStrategy, and Microsoft applications (Excel/Outlook/Word).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Ability to work effectively with all organizational levels, including peers, customers, and leadership.
