Summary Of Responsibilities
This position is responsible for and has the responsibility for assuring organizational health, safety, and emergency planning at the facility. This position has the responsibility for the implementation of facility industrial safety programs and procedures and for ensuring the facility remains prepared to react and respond to any emergency situation that may arise. This position interfaces with employees and managers at all levels of the organization and externally with vendors and governmental agencies. This position adheres to the foundational behaviors, company values and Urenco behaviors.
Education And Experience
Minimum Qualifications: Education
The work location for this position is Urenco USA, Eunice, NM. Work Schedule: Professional work schedule with minimal night/weekend support. Some nights and weekend work may be required. Employees are also subject to call-outs as needed. Travel Required: 10% of the time or less as required. Security Clearance Requirement: Controlled Access Area (CAA) Access and an L or Q level security clearance is required. Emergency Response Requirements: Emergency Response Organization (ERO) duty may be required; including being on-call (24/7) during your designated team duty week. Education And Experience
Minimum Qualifications: Education
- Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Occupational Safety, Engineering or scientific field
- 5-7 years of responsible Health & Safety experience of which 3 years are implementing an Emergency Plan at a nuclear facility
- 2 years of management experience
- Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Occupational Safety, Engineering or scientific field and a Master s degree in business or related field
- More than 7 years of responsible Health & Safety experience of which 3 years are implementing an Emergency Plan at a nuclear facility
- 4 or more years of management experience
- Experience at a Part 70 licensee performing an emergency response role
Primary Functions
- Manage and Implement the Emergency Plan and Emergency Preparedness Program.
- Establish and maintain emergency response facilities, procedures, equipment, and supplies.
- Establish, train and manage the Emergency Response Organization.
- Develop and maintain support from offsite responders.
- Facilitate the conduct and evaluation of Emergency Exercises.
- Manage and Implement the Site Industrial Safety Program.
- Ensure all oversight and auditing responsibilities are concluded.
- Maintain and manage the safety program necessary to meet requirements of corporate policies and to maintain compliance with all federal, state, county and local health and safety regulations.
- Implement and manage policies and procedures related to safety to assure a safe workplace for all employees, contractors and visitors.
- Provides team leadership, training, coaching and mentoring.
- Creates and develops an effective and aligned team and sets challenging goals and expectations for staff.
- Ensures positive behaviors are exhibited by staff.
- Develops and manages the Safety & Emergency Response budget.
- As a collaborative member of the UUSA Site Leadership Team, supports site and corporate strategies and initiatives, models our cultural values, and drives accountability to meet our key results.
- Is the Local Process Owner for Safety and ensures alignment with Group Process Owner.
- In the absence of the Compliance manager may serve as Acting Compliance manager.
- This position has a line of communication with the Chief Nuclear Officer and President and Chief Executive Officer for safety concerns and to have adequate stop work authority.
