Lumber & Building Materials Sales Associate
Uresco Construction Materials, a family owned & operated, local construction supply company, is looking for a Lumber and Building Materials Sales Associate to join our Anchorage team. The ideal applicant gets excited about helping and listening to our customers and providing the service, expertise and products that will complete their project no matter how big or small from start to finish. We are an open office so working and communicating well with others is a must.
This is a very competitive salary plus commission position. Commissions are paid based on thresholds met based on gross profit contributions.
Sales Associate Essential Functions
- Accurately processes sales orders, enters quotes and completes bids.
- Ask questions to understand the needs of customers and recommend product solutions.
- Checks prices and stock availability, quote information as requested.
- Completes special orders, arranges shipping and follows up to confirm receipt of product.
- Prepare purchase orders with our vendors to order the merchandise requested by the customer.
- Track the status of orders, shipping dates, delivery dates and keep the customer informed.
- Respond to customers' requests via telephone, e-mail or in person.
- Sales focused with confidence in approaching and acquiring new customers.
- Make calls to existing, inactive and potential customers to solicit new business.
- Communicates low or out of stock materials to the purchasing department.
- Maintains current knowledge of company products.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
