Job Summary
- A radiology technician will work closely with patients and perform radiologic imaging procedures. The radiology technician's responsibilities include explaining procedures to patients, positioning patients and equipment, performing examinations, and maintaining specialized radiologic equipment.
General Accountabilities
- Review providers imaging orders and prepare patient for radiologic procedures. Provide verbal and/or written instructions to assist patients in positioning body parts for imaging
- Positions x-ray equipment and adjusts controls to set exposure factors, such as time and distance.
- Uses beam-restrictive devices and patient-shielding techniques to minimize radiation exposure to patient and staff.
- Positions patient on examining table and adjusts equipment to obtain optimum view of specific body area as requested by provider.
- Processes exposed radiographs using computer generated methods
- Inform practice manager or supervisor immediately of any equipment malfunctions
- Maintain adequate radiologic supplies
- Perform administrative duties such as producing disc of imaging studies for other outpatient visits, labeling films, and communicating with the radiologist when necessary
- Perform other duties of the clinical team such as triaging patients, obtaining vital signs, venipunctures, obtain lab specimens, administer medications, and any other task to ensure optimal patient flow.

Job Qualifications
- Education: Associate's degree or Bachelor’s degree in radiologic technology
- ARRT Certification required
- Experience: One-year preferred
