Urgent Care Midlevel
Assess and treat patients with common acute conditions, illnesses, or minor trauma in collaboration with a physician.
- Educate patients and/or families about preventive care, positive behaviors, medical issues, and use of prescribed medical treatments and/or medications.
- Maintain legible, accurate, and confidential medical records.
- Document all medical evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, treatment, outcomes, education, and referrals.
- Serve as Medical Examiner and perform physical examinations and other occupational health exams.
- Prescribe medications within scope of license.
- Ability and willingness to work at least one weekend a month.
- Promote teamwork between clinical and administrative staff.
- Be able to work independently (under indirect supervision).
- Has the ability to use judgment to determine when a supervising physician should be consulted.
- Perform point of care testing such as Covid, Influenza and Strep A swabbing.
- Occupational Component of KIA, Georgia specific facility includes performing non-DOT urine drug screens, breath alcohol testing and hair specimen collection.
Education and Experience
- Current licensure as a Certified Registered Family Nurse Practitioner or Current Licensure as a Physician Assistant.
- Have at least one year of experience (2 preferred) as a provider in an emergency care setting or urgent care setting.
