What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant (MA, RMA, AAMA,CMA) position at Urgent Care Northwest - Astoria?
Duties
- Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurances, taking co-pays.
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring their comfort.
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens for testing.
- Administer medications as directed by healthcare providers.
- Provide basic life support in emergency situations.
- Clean and sterilize medical instruments and equipment.
Experience is preferred, however on the job training is also given.
- Previous experience working as a Medical Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Familiarity with medical administrative support tasks such as scheduling appointments and maintaining records.
- Proficiency in taking accurate vital signs and performing basic medical procedures.
- Experience with coding and billing for insurance purposes is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide compassionate patient service.
2 shifts available:
Shift 1
Sun- 8:45am-7:00pm
Mon- 6:45am - 7:00pm
Tue- 6:45am - 7:00pm
Wed- 6:45am - 1:00pm
Shift 2
Wed- 1:00pm - 7:00pm
Thur- 6:45am - 7:00pm
Fri- 6:45am - 7:00pm
Sat- 8:45am-7:00pm
