Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and administrative support within our clinic. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, patient care protocols, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, particularly in urgent care settings.
Responsibilities
- Uphold confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Provide medical administrative support, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow.
- Obtaining insurance and license information for patients and performing insurance verification
- Measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Perform for phlebotomy and assist in medication administration, injections and other procedures as needed.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with medical standards.
- Educate patients on health maintenance and disease prevention.
- Ensure the clinic is well-stocked with necessary medical supplies and equipment.
- Ensure clinic exam rooms and bathrooms are kept clean and tidy.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Medical Assistant program is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and urgent care practices.
- Experience in patient care within a clinical or urgent care setting is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation purposes.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a healthcare team while demonstrating compassion and empathy towards patients.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) is a plus.
