Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at Baptist Health Urgent Care. The successful candidate will be responsible for greeting patients, activating patient files, and providing support to patients and medical staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients and prepare them for examination or procedure, recording their health history and noting any abnormal conditions for the physician.
- Assist with the preparation of supplies and equipment, and aid the physician or mid-level practitioner during treatment, examination, and testing of patients.
- Give injections, administer prescribed medications as directed by the physician, and observe, record, and report patient reactions to drugs and treatments.
- Maintain patient files, records, and other information, ensuring accurate and timely chart entries.
- Collect, document, and deliver lab specimens, and obtain lab test results and other reports.
- Notify patients of test results and follow-up appointments, and instruct them on medications and treatment.
- Clean and restock exam/treatment rooms between procedures, and follow clinic policies for infection control.
Requirements
- A degree from an accredited school of practical nursing.
- A minimum of two years' experience in a hospital or clinic setting is preferred.
- Licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in accordance with state regulations.
