Baptist Health Urgent Care, an affiliate of Urgent Team, operates 23 locations in Arkansas, providing quality and affordable family healthcare. Our convenient walk-in centers offer a range of services, including treatments for injuries and illnesses, occupational health, and wellness care.
We are open seven days a week: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Additionally, all our centers are Accredited Care Centers, recognized by the Urgent Care Association for our commitment to safety, quality, and scope of services.
Job Summary
The LPN will be responsible for greeting patients, activating patient files, and providing support to patients and medical staff. Our full-time team members work a rotating schedule of 36-40 hours per week, consisting of 12-hour weekday shifts and every-other weekend. PRN (per diem) team members are scheduled on an as-needed basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and prepare them for examination or procedure, recording their health history and noting any abnormal conditions for the physician.
- Assist with the preparation of supplies and equipment, aiding the physician during treatment, examination, and testing of patients.
- Administer injections, medications as directed by the physician, and observe patient reactions to drugs and treatments.
- Maintain accurate patient chart entries, forwarding charts as appropriate, and ensure patient files, records, and information are up-to-date.
- Assist with scheduling tests and treatments, arranging referrals to specialists, and obtaining pre-authorizations.
- Collect, document, and deliver lab specimens, obtain lab test results, and notify patients of follow-up appointments.
- Clean and restock exam/treatment rooms between procedures and follow clinic policies for infection control.
- Instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment, and assist with physical exams and preparing for physicals.
Requirements
To be eligible for this position, you must have:
- A degree from an accredited school of practical nursing.
- A minimum of two years' experience in a hospital or clinic setting (preferably).
- Licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in accordance with state regulations.
