What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Veterinarian position at URGIVET?
We are currently in search of full-time Veterinarians for our growing emergency-only practice located in Madison, MS. We are a privately owned clinic with a strong emphasis on client support during their families' stressful time. We have digital radiography, fully computerized medical records, an extensive pharmacy, dedicated patient fluid and syringe pumps, multiple ultrasounds, blood transfusion supplies, extensive in-house lab equipment including CBC / Chemistry / Urinalysis machine, Coags, Thyroid levels, iStat Alinity (blood gases, ionized calcium), large kennels, dog Astroturf outdoor walk yards, multiple exam rooms, cloud-based x-ray viewing for exam rooms, and a large surgical suite. Our surgical suite has electric lift tables, suction, electrocautery, ekg / spo2 / co2 / BP / temp, Bair huggers, led lighting, suction, oxygen concentrators with isoflurane, and additional oxygen therapy kennels. Emergency medicine can be fast paced at times! Our veterinarians have to be capable of handling temporarily stressful situations while maintaining full medical and emotional control. Don't worry we have additional veterinarians on standby as well as love providing mentorship and training while not being overbearing / controlling in the treatment room. We encourage continuing education and prefer our veterinarians attending twice yearly conventions. Veterinarians are expected to present a short consensus of what they learned while on CE for the other veterinarian's growth. Our hours are 5pm-7am Tuesday-Friday. Weekends were open from 5pm Friday until 7am Monday morning. Holidays are rotational work. Our holiday schedule is based upon local clinic closures to provide patient / client support for when they are closed. We are very flexible with scheduling- we over 8 vs 12-hour shifts, very flexible vacation scheduling, flexible general scheduling (some work 1 week on 1 off, others 4 on 4 off, etc.) depending on preference and needs. Benefits include $2,500.00 CE stipend, paid vacation that increases with each year of employment, 3% IRA matching after 1 year of employment, assistance with relocation fees, etc. DVM or equivalent for accredited institution.
Mississippi licensure or application for licensure.
NOTES : Additional Salary Information : Salary will increase with applicants' experience level in private practice and / or emergency medicine.
