What are the responsibilities and job description for the Skilled Maintenance Worker - Domestic Violence Programs - NYC position at URI?
To assist in the maintenance of a safe, clean, and comfortable physical environment.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Sweep, mop, strip, wax and buff common area floors as directed.
- Clean windows, vents, fans, all fixtures, fire equipment and furnishings on regular basis and inform Superintendent of needed repairs.
- Clean residential units when vacated and inform Superintendent of needed repairs.
- Assist in deliveries, unpacking, and stocking shelves.
- Maintain cleanliness of yard, alleys, picnic and play areas.
- Inspect, clean and re-stock public bathrooms daily.
- Clean play rooms and day care rooms daily.
- Bag and remove garbage in accordance with NYC Sanitation requirements.
- Sweep, mop, remove garbage, and tidy offices daily.
- Attend workshops, trainings as directed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
SPECIFICATIONS FOR EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
- High School Diploma or GED
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Demonstrated ability to read and write in English on an 8th grade level.
SPECIFICATIONS FOR PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be physically and visually able to perform job tasks.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
