Job Title : Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Experience : 2 years preferred
License : NYS License
Certifications : CNMT by NMTCB or ARRT Certification in Nuclear Medicine, BLS Certification
Must-Have : CT certification and PET / CT experience
Description :
Reviews patient history and physician's orders.
Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment, and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
Positions patient and performs imaging procedures.
Ensures proper imaging techniques related to patient's age and ability to understand procedure to ensure image quality is successfully obtained.
Reviews patient information and interpretation of data to confirm an appropriate plan and intervention specific for age-related needs and provision of care.
Performs nuclear medicine imaging and therapy in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.
Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.
Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating the procedure.
Enters, transmits, and reports scan results.
Orders, prepares, administers, stores, and disposes of radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols and applicable regulations / standards.
Monitors patient condition continually and reports / responds to changes in status as appropriate.
Maintains appropriate inventory of supplies in the Clinical Nuclear Medicine rooms.
