Job Description
Job Title : Registered Nurse for Observation Unit
Profession : Level 3 Registered Nurse
Specialty : Emergency Room Registered Nurse
Duration : 13 weeks
Shift : Rotating shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, on-call, and charge duties per unit needs
Hours per Shift : 12.0 hours
Experience : Minimum of two years of Medical / Surgical experience
License : Registered Nurse License (NY License ONLY)
Certifications : BLS (American Heart Association ONLY), ACLS (American Heart Association ONLY)
Must-Have : Telemetry experience
Description :
The Observation unit cares for adult patients needing additional observation to determine if their condition is serious enough for admission to the hospital or if they can be treated and released home safely.
It is a fast-paced environment that turns over 20 to 27 patients per day, with an average length of stay of 27 hours.
The unit has 24 / 7 provider coverage.
Care is provided for a diverse adult population of both emergency observation patients and admitted boarding patients.
These patients will range from short stay to full admissions.
