URMC is looking for individuals to join the Outpatient team as full-time or part-time, Ambulatory Procedure Technicians at our Upper GI Clinic. The part time position will also float as need to our Surgical Clinic.
Ambulatory Procedural Technicians perform a variety of clinical like checking vitals, updating patient charts, conducting point-of-care testing and room preparation — also assisting with procedures and clinical tasks. Provides technical knowledge in preparing instruments, equipment and supplies for procedures and/or assists team with the technical portion of the procedure.
This is an excellent entry point for those continuing their clinical education, working toward a Nursing or Advanced Practice (PA/NP) program or medical school
The ideal candidate for an Ambulatory Procedure Technologist brings anAssociates degree or equivalent plus two years of related medical or customer service experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures and computer experience preferred. The ability to work at a fast pace is essential.
