What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ambulatory Technician - Urology - Canandaigua, NY position at URMC?
URMC’s Outpatient Ambulatory Care team is seeking Ambulatory Technicians as we continue to grow our community-based medical practices. These Medical (Nursing) Assistants perform clinical tasks like checking vitals, updating patient charts, conducting point-of-care testing and room preparation — also assisting with procedures and clinical tasks.
This is an excellent entry point for those continuing their clinical education, working toward a Nursing or Advanced Practice (PA/NP) program or Medical school.
Our Ambulatory Technician’s work is focused on:
Customer Service: Providing a warm patient hand-off to providers and nursing staff in the clinic.
Collaboration: Ensuring supplies and equipment are readily available in exam rooms to ensure smooth clinic operations and patient visits.
Teamwork: Assisting providers with patient visits and in-office procedures. Supporting front office and nursing colleagues with their tasks.
Accuracy: Documenting patient encounters and visit notes in the electronic medical record (EMR).
The ideal candidate for an Ambulatory Technician brings at least one year of patient care experience. A customer service orientation and the ability to work at a fast pace is essential.
