The University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC) Sports Medicine program is seeking an Athletic Trainer to join our team. This role provides athletic training services to local high schools, focusing on injury prevention, rehabilitation, and clinical care in collaboration with physicians and allied health professionals.

About the Role
Athletic Trainers in this position provide direct support in multiple settings, including high schools, colleges, outpatient clinics, and hospital environments. Responsibilities include:
- Injury Prevention & Treatment – Evaluate injuries, administer first aid, and develop rehabilitation plans in coordination with medical professionals.
- Athlete & Coach Education – Guide athletes, parents, and coaches on best practices for conditioning, injury prevention, and recovery.
- Clinical Role - Manage independent patient care for nonoperative and postoperative patients in one of our outpatient rehabilitation locations. Opportunities to work alongside physicians and assist with their clinical workflow as well as opportunities to work in our orthopedic ambulatory surgery center.
- Hospital-Based Rehabilitation Assistance – Work alongside clinical teams to aid patient mobility, post-injury recovery, and functional movement training.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in athletic training
- Certification by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification (NATABOC).
- New York State licensure as an Athletic Trainer or able to obtain
- CPR certification and ability to respond to medical emergencies.
- Experience in outpatient orthopedic clinical care and athletic training outreach is preferred.
