Job Summary :
The Associate Director will design, implement, manage, analyze and effectively communicate marketing research, competitive intelligence and insights for both inline and pipeline products. This person will serve a strategic in-house advisor and pragmatic compass for marketing, sales and leadership – ensuring that all decisions are grounded in rigorous intelligence and earned intuition.
This leader will look at data differently, as an input into insights generation, not as an endgame and will manage, integrate and communicate brand, marketplace and customer points of view with cross-functional leaders. This individual will derive high-impact learnings from qualitative and quantitative primary and secondary research, behavioral analytics, market / competitive intelligence, and internal stakeholder initiatives, to inform go to market strategy and tactical plans.
The position requires a motivated, energetic candidate with a collaborative “can-do” attitude and must possess the experience to work independently and execute optimized plans. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to play a key strategic and operational role to influence decisions in a small and nimble organization and help shape the vibrant culture and working processes of an emerging biotech company.
- Bachelor’s degree is required. Advanced degree (MA, MS, MBA) preferred.
- 7 years relevant primary / secondary market research in healthcare industry with secondary data (physician-level prescribing, sales data, payer-prescriber-level data, formulary data, patient-level data, etc.) knowledge is required.
- Candidate should display strong analytical reasoning, intellectual curiosity, business acumen, organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, writing skills and creativity in problem-solving.
- Ability to interact effectively with other leaders and present to all levels of the organization.
- Experience with and strong aptitude navigating a heavily matrixed and fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to collaborate effectively cross-functionally within the organization and with external agencies.
- Demonstrated project management skills.
- Anticipate, understand, shape, and prioritize business questions and evaluate primary and secondary approaches to answer those questions across the organization, supporting marketing, market access, business development and portfolio initiatives.
- Provide thought leadership related to the development of market research approaches and methodologies. Guide external agencies to identify critical findings and insights and ensure brand strategy is pulled-through and communicated effectively in research results.
- Build and lead CI function leveraging primary / secondary research and integrating insights from the UroGen Medical team. Maintain detailed assessments of the competitive landscape, alerting the organization of new developments, potential business impact and working cross functionally to develop response plans.
- Effectively manage multiple market research and CI vendor / partner relationships to ensure high quality deliverables to achieve business objectives within budget and timeline.
- Expert in custom research methods, adept at supplier and stakeholder management, and able to independently lead custom research projects that deliver compelling and actionable learnings.
- Perform thought-provoking and sophisticated syntheses of learning across research, analytics, and market / competitive intelligence sources to develop actionable insights and recommendations that shape strategies and decisions.
- Provide an unbiased point of view on the future potential of assets in consideration, supported by facts and evidence and demonstrate thoughtful confidence in presentation of learnings across all levels of the organization.
- Monitor and manage research programs within budget and identify opportunities for cost savings where appropriate.
- Ensure all research and analytics activities are conducted in accordance with financial and ethical compliance guidelines.
