Job Summary:

The Urology Austin Clinical Educator is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating training programs for new and existing Medical Assistants (MAs) and Patient Services Representatives (PSRs). This role requires a strong understanding of medical office procedures, patient care, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will be a skilled communicator, patient, and detail-oriented with a passion for training and development

​Responsibilities and Duties:

• New Hire Training:
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for new MAs and PSRs, covering topics such as:
    • Medical terminology
    • Medical office procedures
    • Electronic health record (EHR) systems
    • Patient intake and registration
    • Insurance verification and billing
    • Clinical skills (e.g., vital signs, phlebotomy, injections)
    • Regulatory compliance (e.g., HIPAA, OSHA)
  • Conduct both didactic and hands-on training sessions.
  • Monitor new hires' progress and provide ongoing support and feedback.
  • Responsible for Preceptor Program
• Ongoing Training and Development:
  • Identify training needs for existing MAs and PSRs through regular performance evaluations and feedback from the staff members’ managers.
  • Develop and deliver targeted training programs to address specific skill gaps or emerging needs.
  • Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and new technologies.
  • Update training materials and delivery methods to reflect best practices and evolving standards.
  • Conduct regular refresher training sessions to maintain proficiency and compliance.
• Field Training:
  • Provide on-the-job training and coaching to MAs and PSRs in clinical and administrative settings.
  • Observe staff performance and provide feedback and guidance.
  • Assist with troubleshooting issues and problem-solving.
• Training Materials and Curriculum:
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive library of training materials, including:
    • Training manuals
    • PowerPoint presentations
    • Job aids and checklists
    • Online learning modules
  • Regularly review and update training materials to ensure accuracy and relevance.
• Evaluation and Reporting:
  • Track and measure the effectiveness of training programs through pre- and post-training assessments, performance evaluations, and other relevant metrics.
  • Analyze training data to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for future training initiatives.
  • Prepare regular reports on training activities, participant performance, and program outcomes.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Advanced clinical knowledge and education required; RN preferred.
• Urology experience a plus. Can substitute with comparable professional knowledge and experience.
• Minium 5 years of experience in a patient care environment
• Leadership background and experience strongly preferred
• Proven experience in training and development, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical office procedures, and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHR systems.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
