Job Summary:
The purpose of this position is to provide accurate CT Scans and maintain accurate filing as well as assist with other radiological tests when needed.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Develop and maintain appropriate protocols in conjunction with the radiologist and/or other pertinent physician.
- Prepares and positions patient for procedure by using established CT protocols to achieve the highest quality image.
- Gather accurate history and complete patient checklist prior to scan.
- Escorts patient to CT room, completes all paperwork necessary and has good IV access skills for contrast studies.
- Practice proper safety precautions in the magnet environment.
- Attend training and ongoing education in regards to the current Urology Austin equipment & CT certification.
- Conducts daily quality control measures to monitor machine performance. Reports all malfunctions and/or need for adjustments to the proper company representative.
- Maintain appropriate levels of supplies.
- Arranges for the release of images to patients and outside agencies.
- Complies with organization policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with customers and co-workers.
- Maintain patient and employee confidentiality per HIPPA and Compliance policies.
- Utilize company resources in a cost effective manner.
- Follow OSHA and universal precaution guidelines.
- Maintain a clean, safe environment.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Current Texas Medical Radiologic Technologist license.
- Associate’s Degree
- Registered as A.R.R.T. in radiography.
- ARRT certification in CT preferred.
- Current BLS/CPR Certification.
- Minimum of one year CT experience.
- Skill in assisting in a variety of treatments and medications as directed.
- Displays excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- In order to effectively communicate with other professionals and customers, must be able to read, write, hear accurately and speak clearly using medical terminology.
