Do you have experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist and are you looking for a position outside of a hospital setting? Urology Austin is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Clinical Laboratory Scientist to join our team. The CLS will perform moderate to high level complexity testing in molecular microbiology, chemistry and hematology.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for implementing and running new chemistry analyzers
- Manages hematology analyzer
- Correlation studies
- Instrument calibrations
- Procedure writing
- Perform molecular microbiology testing
- Participate in proficiency testing
- Proper handling of specimens and reagents
- Producing quality results
- Train new personnel
- Troubleshoot when needed

Qualifications and Skills
- BS or BA in a scientific field is required.
- 0-3 year’s related experience or
- 0-1 Year experience working in a CLIA/CAP environment.
- Basic knowledge of Windows Office Products.
- Basic knowledge of data entry and patient demographics.
- Ability to approach problems/decisions analytically.
- Ability to maintain detailed records of daily, weekly, monthly and annual maintenance
- Ability to maintain materials in an organized fashion as part of patients’ medical record.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to prioritize and interact effectively with all levels of management, staff and physicians.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Able to perform basic instrument preventive maintenance of the equipment the employee is trained to use.
- Must be able to tolerate a moderate noise level
- Must be able to work an extended schedule as needed
- The employee is regularly exposed to high pressure situations, and therefore, must be able to thrive in this type of environment.
