Primary responsibilities are to ensure that all facet and requirements of a multi-physician practice including accuracy of payment application to accounts are applied. Must have the ability to determine contracted carriers are paying according to negotiated contracted rates .
Candidate Qualifications :
- 1 years of medical payment posting and A / R experience is required
- Must have the ability to prepare daily deposits including EFT's and live checks
- Must have a clear understanding of contractual adjustments vs. non-contractual adjustments
- Must have knowledge of working with contractual fee schedules
- Must be familiar with current Medicare, Medicaid, PPO, HMO and Third Party payer billing guidelines
- Must have the ability to post payments accurately with the ability to balance daily batches
- Must be detail oriented with the ability to identify payment discrepancies
- Must have the ability to comprehend EOB's and route denials and underpayments to appropriate A / R staff
- Must have the ability to work A / R issues
- Must have the knowledge of billing secondary and tertiary plans
- Must have the ability to effectively identify carrier denial trends and under / over payments and provide internal feedback to management
- Must be able to work closely with the Accounting and Management Team
- Knowledge of Excel is a plus
- Large medical group seeking an experienced Medical AR Specialist / Payment Poster with the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
- Knowledge of Medicare / PPO / Commercial & HMO billing guidelines Working A / R follow-up, to include denials and timely re-submission of claims Knowledge and ability of working with Clearinghouse for claim status Processing of payments to include collections, daily batch posting and daily / monthly close Processing of EFT's and manual check posting Understands the concept of contractual and non-contractual allowable fee schedules Processing of electronic claims to include primary, secondary and tertiary Ability to obtain insurance authorizations 1 years minimum experience in a medical setting
