Medical Scribe

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Medical Scribe. As a Medical Scribe, you will work closely with healthcare professionals to accurately document patient encounters, ensuring comprehensive and timely medical records. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in the medical field while contributing to the delivery of exceptional patient care. This position is ideal for a college student looking to study in the field of medicine.

Responsibilities:

• Accompany physician during patient visits and accurately document medical histories, physical examinations, procedures, and treatment plans in real-time.
• Transcribe and enter medical data into electronic health records (Allscripts) systems, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to established protocols.
• Collaborate with physician to ensure proper coding and billing documentation.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
• Participate in training sessions and stay updated on medical terminology, procedures, and industry regulations.
• Foster effective communication and teamwork with physician, clinical staff, and other staff members to optimize patient care.

Requirements/Skills:

• Basic knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
• Excellent typing and data entry skills with a high level of accuracy.
• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems. Knowledge of Allscripts is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with healthcare professionals and patients.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
• Previous experience as a medical scribe or in a similar role is preferred, but not required.
