Responsibilities:
- Accompany physician during patient visits and accurately document medical histories, physical examinations, procedures, and treatment plans in real-time.
- Transcribe and enter medical data into electronic health records (Allscripts) systems, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to established protocols.
- Collaborate with physician to ensure proper coding and billing documentation.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
- Participate in training sessions and stay updated on medical terminology, procedures, and industry regulations.
- Foster effective communication and teamwork with physician, clinical staff, and other staff members to optimize patient care.
Requirements/Skills:
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Excellent typing and data entry skills with a high level of accuracy.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems. Knowledge of Allscripts is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with healthcare professionals and patients.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Previous experience as a medical scribe or in a similar role is preferred, but not required.
