What are the responsibilities and job description for the Call Center Agent position at Urology Associates of the Central Coast?
Position Summary:
We are looking for a Call Center Agent in the Business Office. The call center agent is responsible for excellent customer service when answering multiline telephone system. Scheduling of patient’s appointment in our clinical locations and updating patients demographics. Patching patients through to clinical offices when appropriate.
Job Requirements:
Ability to deliver excellent customer service skills.
An attention to detail and the ability to maneuver in multiple computer programs.
Previous experience in a medical office setting preferred.
Thorough understand of HIPAA and how to work in a professional environment
Must be able to use various electronic office equipment (i.e. photocopy machine, scanner, and computer.)
Section II- Duties and Responsibilities:
- Answer incoming calls from patients and schedule their future/recurring appointments in our clinical offices
- Schedule patients appointments in all UACC clinical offices
- Monitors and maintains providers schedules to their preferences/expected standards
- Contact No Show/Recall patients in attempts to reschedule their appointments
- Contacts provider “surgical/vacation” rescheduled patients list to ensure patients appointments are rescheduled in a timely manner
- Patches patients with acute issues/medical questions through to the clinical offices medical assistant/LVN staff
- Work with multiple software' such as, Edmeys, Right Fax, Cerner/SPM, Knowledge of insurance companies
- Request records from doctors offices with records request
- Check messages through power chart/email/pool daily
- Understanding of HMO approvals in chart/AUTHS (prior to scheduling an appointment)
- Understanding the perspective side of the GYN/Urology scheduling/Triage
- Knowledge of medications/procedures/imaging and labs test done in office and as an outpatient procedure
Physical Requirements:
Requires manual dexterity, good vision and hearing along with having good verbal communication skills. (Must speak clearly and compassionately)
Must be able to multi-task in this past paced environment (i.e. answer phones, makes appointments, and update patient demographics while remaining professional to patients and co-workers)
Must be able to stand and sit for prolonged periods of time.
