Additionally, the Assistant Site Manager assists the Site Manager with supervising all staff and works with the physicians to ensure a compliant and successful practice, both operationally and financially.
Essential Skills And Experiences
- Minimum three years medical practice leadership/management experience
- Minimum of one year experience in the clinic setting as either a medical assistant, LVN, or RN in a hospital or clinic setting required
- Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA), Registered Nurse, or Licensed Vocational Nurse preferred
- Bachelor’s degree with coursework in healthcare administration preferred
- Proven experience in managing practice clinics with proven experience in clinical training, oversight, OSHA, and medical records documentation
- Experience in human resource management, with preferred experience in urology
- Experience in managing and maintaining compliance within a medical practice
- Experience in medical regulatory issues
- Advanced computer knowledge of Windows operating system and programs, including Microsoft Office.
- Oversees multiple daily site office clinic operations and coordinates the work activities and schedules for the clinical aspects of the office
- Ensures provisions of safe, high-quality patient care by the staff
- Responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of Urology Austin’s mission and strategic vision
- Recommends, develops, implements improvements for the operations of each assigned clinic location for Urology Austin
- Informs the Site Manager of Urology Austin about current trends and/or issues in healthcare, with an emphasis on urologic issues
- Establishes, secures approval and oversees Urology Austin’s operating policies and procedures with the emphasis on the clinical setting in the office
- Oversees efforts together with human resources for recruitment, development, and performance evaluation of employees, maintaining a fiscally responsible staff salary budget
- Assists Site Manager with local human resource functions for the assigned clinical site, including oversight (together with the Human Resources Department) of all employee hiring, evaluations, disciplinary actions and termination
- Assist with overseeing of all office staff of Urology Austin, with the primary focus o the clinical medical assistants, registered nurses, and licensed vocations nurses (with the physicians), together with the Site Manager and COO
- Enhances operational effectiveness, emphasizing cost containment without jeopardizing important innovation or quality of care
- Ensures Urology Austin’s compliance with all regulatory agencies governing health care delivery and the rules of accrediting bodies including State inspections, as applicable
- Monitors risk management activities and appropriately address all risk management issues as required by Texas law, including medical record custodial duties
- Represents Urology Austin in its relationships with other health organizations, government agencies and third party payers
- Resolves any medical/administrative problems and keeps lines of communication open with staff to ensure high employee morale and a professional clinic atmosphere
- Maintains professional affiliations and enhances professional development to keep current in the latest health care trends and developments
- Maintains strictest confidentiality both with patient health records as well as sensitive Practice and employee information
- Assists Site Manager, COO and IT Administrator with management and oversight of all assigned clinical site information technology including practice management administration, system network issues, telephone system issues and management of hardware needs
