What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Relations Specialist position at Urology Center of Columbus, LLC?
Job Duties: Check in/out patients and collect proper money owed. Assist Billing Department with resubmission of denials, etc.
Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. One year medical receptionist office experience required.
Benefits: Hours worked are Monday - Thursday 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Friday 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-term Disability, Pension Plan, PTO (Paid Time Off) and EIB (Extended Illness Bank).
Position Specific :
- Money drawers are balanced and closed daily when shift is completed. Ensures that cash, credit cards and checks balance with Aprima and drawer.
- Collect all co-pays, co-insurance and patient balances as appropriate.
- Verifies and inputs patient information as required to ensure that the practice has the most current information on file.
- Ensures that demographic sheets/required consent forms, etc., are printed in advance of patients appointments.
- Call to reschedule appointments that the patient cancels or no shows for provider, bloodwork and nursing schedule.
