Job Overview
As a Triage nurse, you will provide patient consultations, education and advisement over the phone. Speaking to patients, medical providers and colleagues, assisting them in determining the urgency of care needed, referring to or scheduling appointments, and giving health information and advice. LPN will be required to provide cross-coverage relief to other duties within the Clinical department of the practice, including working alongside providers, assisting them in procedures, and seeing patients for "nursing visits" which include catheterization, injections, etc.
Duties
-Handling a high volume of telephone calls and voice mail messages from patients, providers and colleagues, to discuss patient care.
-The ability to make decisions, and answer patient questions, based on established UGWNE policy and experience with urology nursing.
-Maintaining detailed documentation of communications with patients, and any treatments.
-The ability to see patients for "Nursing Visits", for treatment including testosterone injections, catheter removal, etc.
-Processing and tracking requests for medication prior authorization.
Experience
- Previous experience in triage nursing or a similar role is preferred
- Proficiency in patient care across different age groups
