Medical Assistant (Shockwave Therapy (LISWT) Technician PT/FT)

JOB TITLE: Shockwave Therapy (LISWT) Technician

STATUS: Full-time/Part-time non-exempt position

Salary Range: $16-20 per hour

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

· High school diploma required

· Must be registered/certified Medical Assistant or able to become so within 6 months

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

1 year experience in busy medical setting

1 year electronic medical records experience

1 year Urology and/or Male Fertility and Sexual Health experience preferred

1 year performing catheter changes, bladder scans, phlebotomy preferred

CORE FUNCTIONS:

· Room and prepare patients for their office visits (take vitals, collect, and process specimens, etc.)

· Communicate effectively with the provider about the patient’s status and presenting problem(s)

· Carry out provider orders, to include performing specified procedures including Shockwave Therapy (LISWT) for erectile dysfunction.

· Accurately chart encounter in EMR system

· Inform patients via telephone of test results and discuss and fill prescription refills

· Schedule procedures and surgeries, when necessary

· Catheterization of patients

· Occasional travel to other clinics may be required due to business needs

REQUIRED SKILLS:

· Excellent customer service skills

· Ability to multi-task and work under stress in a fast paced, high-pressure environment

· Strict attention to detail, and ability to accurately enter data

· Ability to maintain strict adherence to privacy standards

· Operates with honesty and integrity. Ability to learn from mistakes.

· Intermediate computer skills and advanced medical terminology knowledge

· Familiarity with OSHA and the use of PPE

Preferred:

· Experience with Allscripts EMR

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

· Long periods of standing

· Occasional lifting of boxes weighing up to 25 pounds

· Frequent communication with patients face-to-face and via phone

· Exposure to bodily fluids

· Exposure to cleaning chemicals and disinfectants

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
