Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Office Assistant to join our team in a fast-paced medical environment. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic, providing exceptional support to both patients and medical staff. This position requires strong clerical skills, familiarity with medical terminology, proficiency in medical office management software as well as experience with scheduling.
Duties
- Greet patients and work with patients to ensure a welcoming environment.
- Schedule appointments and/or surgery and maintain accurate patient records.
- Assist with patient check-in and check-out processes, including verifying insurance information.
- Handle clerical tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining organized patient files.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding their treatment plans, follow-up appointments and surgical scheduling.
- Utilize knowledge of urologic terminology to assist in coordinating care with other healthcare professionals.
- Support coding processes for insurance claims and billing inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with health regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Bonus-Provide bilingual support to enhance communication with diverse patient populations (if applicable).
Experience
- Previous experience in a medical office or clinic setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with eClinical works is a plus.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and coding practices is beneficial.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for managing multiple tasks efficiently and effectively.
