Job Summary
The Fleet Support Supervisor provides day-to-day operation supervision to the Fleet Support department. This role is responsible for customer service quality, problem resolution, damage control, and employee training and development. The Fleet Support Supervisor aids the Manager in executing the department’s goals and initiatives.
Job Duties
- Direct the daily duties of staff in the Fleet Support Office
- Confer with Fleet Support Manager on personnel decisions
- Supervises the Fleet Support operations to ensure quality customer service, efficiency and effectiveness
- Build good rapport with vendors and find mutually beneficial solutions to escalated disputes
- Communicate breakdown and repair issues to mechanics in an effort to greatly reduce the downtime experienced when mechanical problems arise.
- Follow-up with terminal to advise of breakdown and provide pertinent data to assist with the rescue of freight.
- Generate a variety of service reports to aid in the coaching and development of employees and provide status updates to Fleet Support Manager
- Negotiate cost with service providers

- Proficiency in web-based programs (TMT, OVISS, etc.)
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner which fosters good work ethic and culture to ensure the success of business operations in order to meet company demands and expectations.
Qualifications
- Two years’ practical heavy equipment repair experience
- Supervisory experience in the transportation industry preferred
- Two years’ supervisory experience dispatching emergency maintenance service
