JOB TITLE: Corporate Council, Part-Time (20 hours/week)
LOCATION: 100% Remote
DURATION: 5 months
RATE RANGE: $90-96/hour
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide legal advice and contracting support for the Company's US Commercial sales.
- Advise on US Commercial programs supporting the Company service, with a strong working knowledge of relevant fraud and abuse laws and regulations.
- Draft, review and negotiate the terms of commercial contracts in support of US Commercial (i.e., sales, inventory consignment contracts, master services agreements, EHR integration contracts, etc.). Experience with payer agreements preferred.
- Optimize templates and forms and develop and contribute to playbooks to streamline legal-sales collaboration, and support legal enablement of sales
- Engage and work closely and collaboratively with Sales, Payer Relations, Health Economics Outcomes Research (HEOR), Payer Marketing, CX and other internal clients.
- Provide advice on the laws, regulations and guidelines related to the development, promotion, and provision of Company services in the United States.
- Take on additional product and commercial matters as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
- JD from an accredited US law school and good standing with at least one US state bar.
- At least 6 years of in-house legal department experience, law firm and/or government experience.
- Transactional experience and knowledge of US federal and state health care laws and regulations, including the False Claims Act, Anti-Kickback Statute, the Beneficiary Inducement Law, physician self-referral and others, as well as the laws and regulations relating to operations, billing and reimbursement for the provision of healthcare services and products, including US federal healthcare programs.
- Must be self-directed, motivated, and able to operate autonomously, but also to work collaboratively as a team player with legal colleagues and internal business players.
- Demonstrates superior communication, negotiation, people, and organizational skills, and is comfortable and confident in dealing directly with customers, sales teams, and all levels of management.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and workload in a fast-paced business.
- Ability to advise on, and negotiate, complex business transactions and agreements.
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical skills – capable of identifying and anticipating potential issues and developing workable solutions.
