POSITION SUMMARY:
Wearables is looking for a Design Program Manager to support design operations for the Core Experiences Foundational Design team, a fast paced, high intensity, high visibility, high impact team. Our client's vision is to deliver on our device portfolio roadmap with a new design companion app that enhances AI experiences for users through wearables devices, optimized onboarding, improved discovery & education, seamless devices management, leading to wearables user retention. We leverage various surfaces including - App UX, In-App AI, On-Device Voice, On-Device Display and others. We contribute to the success of our new device feature launches and device integrations through a robust app platform that helps partner teams build with high quality, while improving performance, reliability and efficiency. Users trust and feel confident that they and their wearables related data are safe and protected.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Team specific responsibilities
- Support Wearables Foundational Experiences DPM lead and PD Directors to execute on the established rhythm of business for Wearables software, Privacy, Trust.
- Manage the day-to-day rhythm of business touchpoints across the Foundational Experiences Design team, inclusive of running team crits, note capturing, and follow ups.
- Support planning and execution of prototype demos for Design & Product Reviews across multiple locations.
- Manage all internal hardware requests for design team
- Support bug bash program strategy to increase product quality with guidance from Experiences DPM lead.
Responsibilities
- Be accountable for tracking progress towards milestones, managing dependencies, identifying and communicating risks, and managing changes by leveraging design domain expertise
- Partner with DPM lead to optimize team scope, schedule, and resources effectively
- Share out weekly project progress and inform stakeholders on key updates.
- Maintain bug repo (Tasks tool) and manage team tasks & bug burndown to facilitate on-time software delivery.
- Create automation scripts for Tasks tool to improve team efficiency
- Lead design team crits by managing sign ups & schedule, capturing notes & feedback, and clearly communicating next steps.
- Collaborate with DPM lead & TPM to facilitate Design-led Bug Bash efforts
- Contribute to Wearables Design Ops wide initiatives that help optimize and scale DPMs effectively across design horizontals
- Planning out design sprints, prioritizing tasks (kandban/jira), and publishing feature roadmaps to stakeholders
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 4 years of experience working with design and art teams to ship software.
- Experience working with directly with design teams and collaborating closely with technical teams
- Firm understanding of design accountabilities in relation to SW release schedules
- Executing on an established rhythm of business, running a team through a project plan, and proactively identifying risks & possible mitigation paths along the path to delivery.
- Detail oriented and organized both individually and at team scale
- Experience managing work with external vendors
- Experience in developing product quality standards and design operations
- Technical experience with authoring scripts to automate tasks & workflow
- Experience with building dashboards to visualize data
- Experience using data to identify problems and communicate solutions
