JOB TITLE : GIS Analyst

LOCATION : Atlanta, GA

DURATION : 4 month contract with potential extension and conversion to FTE

RATE RANGE : $26 / hr-$46 / hr

Position Summary :

The GIS Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting the growth and management of GIS applications and data systems. Under the guidance of the GIS Technical Services Coordinator, this position is responsible for assisting with a wide range of technical services, including cloud-based GIS systems, GIS data management, system planning, and integration with other systems. This position is essential for maintaining, optimizing, and evolving the Department's GIS infrastructure.

Responsibilities :

GIS Cloud Environment and Services Management (30%)

Serve as the technical assistant for the development and delivery of cloud-based GIS applications and services. Ensure smooth and efficient operation of GIS applications in the cloud environment.

GIS Architecture (20%)

Continuously maintain, test, and plan GIS technology architectures that meet the Department's demand. Stay up-to-date with industry best practices to ensure the GIS technology remains aligned with cutting-edge advancements.

Collaboration and Coordination (20%)

Effectively interface with staff and external consultants to coordinate GIS technical development. Manage in-house projects, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met.

Data Management and Development (20%)

Maintain, manage, modify, and integrate GIS data with current and future systems. Ensure data accuracy and accessibility while supporting the overall goals of GIS operations.

Application Management and Development (10%)

Support the integration of GIS applications with other business systems. Ensure seamless functionality and alignment with departmental workflows.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

Skilled in utilizing web GIS platforms, such as ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Portal.

Proficient in developing and updating GIS web map applications to meet user needs.

Experience working with field collection applications such as Field Maps, Survey123, and Quick Capture.

Strong understanding of SDE database management, including editing and managing feature classes.

Ability to maintain web GIS groups, content, and user permissions.

Critical thinking and troubleshooting abilities, with excellent customer service skills.

Ability to plan, execute, and manage work assignments efficiently.

Experience with GIS data interoperability, especially with applications outside of the ESRI suite, is a plus.

Qualifications and Education Requirements :

Minimum Requirements :

Associate's degree in Computer Science, Geography, Geospatial Technology, or a related field.

3-5 years of experience with ESRI GIS desktop software (ArcGIS Pro), SDE database management, and general GIS support.

1 year of experience with ArcGIS Online & Portal user management.

Preferred Requirements :

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Geography, Geospatial Technology, or a related field.

5-7 years of work experience in GIS, with a deep understanding of cloud-based GIS technologies and integration.
