Job Title: Cross Connection Control Specialist (Certified)
Key Responsibilities:
The Cross Connection Control Specialist inspects, surveys, and determines the necessity for backflow prevention assemblies based on the degree of hazard. This includes performing cross connection control surveys of piping systems to determine the need for backflow prevention.
Essential Functions:
- Inspect new and existing backflow prevention assembly installations and enforce Company and State of California Cross Connection Control regulatory requirements.
- Perform cross connection control surveys of piping systems (fire, irrigation and domestic) identifying all actual and potential cross connections that pose a risk to the distribution system.
- Apply knowledge of piping, volume, flow and backflow preventers to determine the level of backflow protection required.
- Test backflow prevention assemblies as required.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Valid California Class C Driver's license is required.
- California State Water Distribution Operator II certification is required.
- Cross Connection Control Specialist certification is required.
- Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester certification is required.
