The Quality Control Technician-Summer Position will inspect, sample, and conduct routine and special laboratory testing on construction aggregate materials according to the appropriate standard test method(s). The QC Technician will perform tests to ensure the quality and consistency at the point of production and shipping. The individual will be expected to troubleshoot and recommend corrective action for issues arising on field and jobsite locations. The individual will verify test results with outside testing agencies and maintain accurate and timely records on test data, product quality, and defective materials.

Essential Functions
- Gather quality samples from large aggregate stock piles
- Perform all INDOT required and aggregate quality testing while maintaining all required paperwork and computer files
- Must be current on all INDOT certifications
- Maintain proper order and cleanliness in the laboratory, stairs, and catwalks
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including but not limited to continuously growing in alignment with the Company’s core values, competencies, and skills.
- Required High School or Equivalent
- Preferred Experience with INDOT and CAPP
- Preferred MSHA Trained preferred
- Preferred Experience with aggregate lab testing
- Basic mathematical skills required
- Ability to work on catwalks
- Positive attitude and ability to be a team player
- Available to work evenings and weekends when needed
- The functions and abilities necessary to successfully perform in this position, but may not be limited to standing, walking, sitting, carrying/lifting 15 to 50 lbs., pushing/pulling, climbing, stooping/bending, reaching above shoulder level, operate motor vehicle, manual dexterity (e.g. writing, typing, handling)
- Current INDOT Certification Preferred
- Must have the ability to continuously stand or walk on level or uneven ground
- Must have the ability to ascend and descend ladders, stairways and incline catwalks
- Must have the ability to bend, crouch and/or kneel at the waist or knees
- Must have the ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50lbs
- Exposure to Noise, Odors, Dust or Mist, Fumes or Vapors
- Ability to work outside the majority of the time and withstand extreme weather conditions. Exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions caused by the weather
