What are the responsibilities and job description for the Building Automation Technician position at US AMR-Jones Lang LaSalle Americas, Inc.?
The preferred location for the candidate is Charlotte, NC with the potential for candidates to be located outside in other regions (southeast US).
Responsibilities:
- Develop a proficient understanding of a retail Building Automation System (BMS)

Support the retail BMS Command Center Team as needed with:
- Providing Technical Support & Customer Service using retail BMS Command Center Phone System. Command Center support 1,000 calls\month
- Work order reduction programs
- Client service initiatives
- Training and support for Facility Vendor Teams.
- Performing Afterhours On-Call for emergencies only
- Responsible for the day-to-day resolution of complex problems and the execution while using the retail BMS Energy Management System.
- Provide exceptional client service for all retail BMS facilities by proactively identifying and resolving potential issues before they have an impact on the facility
- Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required
- Build tools and processes that can improve retail BMS team efficiencies
- Execute the retail BMS business plan
- Communicate with the Facility Management, Project Management, and Energy & Sustainability teams as needed.
- Build and maintain a strong relationship with client teams to ensure client goals are met.
- Manage the process of identifying energy saving opportunities at retail BMS locations.
Qualifications:
- Engineering or Energy Background
- Knowledge of Tridium Niagara 4 or a comparable retail control system such as Automated Logic, Siemens, Honeywell, or Johnson Controls
- 5 years experience in troubleshooting HVAC Control Systems
- Experience\Understanding of Energy and Sustainability issues
- Ability to work independently and on a team
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Strong people skills
- Computer proficiency using spreadsheets and processing applications
- Must be process focused and able to manage through systems
- Must have keen ability to manage through influence
- Must be able to prioritize and plan efficiently
- Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
